Cook

The cook prepares and serves food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu.  Prepares food in accordance with current applicable state , federal and local standards, guidelines and regulations.  Directed by the Dining services Manager , to ensure quality food at all times. 

The cook assists in assuring proper receiving , storage, preparation, sanitation and cleaning procedures are followed. Must be detail- oriented, well groomed , and be able to supervise dietary aides  when Dining Services Director is not present.  Must be responsible and dependable and able to work independently.

All other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Serv Safe certification preferred as well as long term care cooking experience .

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Must be able to read, speak , write and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks. Maintain records and complete reports as required.

Maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance.

Must be able to lift/carry max 50 lbs, push/ pull , stand for extended periods, bend and walk . Be able to be around food and chemical sanitation products.
