As an integral part of the management team, the Register Nurse supervisor is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing staff nursing service functions to provide optimum nursing care for each resident within our facility. Comprehensive knowledge of State and Federal regulations, facility policies, as well as superb communication skills are required ensuring accurate interpretation and compliance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide professional guidance and supervision to professional non-professional staff
Serve as a role model in the delivery of direct resident care using the nursing process
Communicate with physicians and other ancillary services as indicated (admission, discharge, change in condition, etc.)
Ensure that physician orders are followed as prescribed
Promptly notify attending physician and responsible party of any significant change in the resident's health condition
Report incidents, accidents and adverse events to Director of Nurses and Administrator
Investigate resident/family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution
Ensure communication between licensed nursing staff and C.N.A.’s during and between shifts
Provide patient care when required
Create an environment that is respectful, team oriented and responsive to the concerns of staff, residents and families
Currently licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Previous experience as a staff nurse or charge nurse in which administrative, supervisory, and leadership abilities have been well demonstrated.
Knowledge of Point Click Care electronic health record software preferred
